Where Gentle is Strong
Hey there, friends in recovery,
Do societal pressures weigh on you or your clients? Particularly for men, there’s an overwhelming expectation to shield emotions and act tough, even when feeling vulnerable.
SAMHSA reports that nearly 10% of men in the US struggle with substance use disorders, yet many do not seek help due to societal stigma and entrenched stereotypes about masculinity. Traditional self-care programs often reinforce rather than alleviate these pressures, making recovery a challenging endeavor.
At STOP & FLOW, we've crafted our approach to create a safe space where men can freely express vulnerabilities and engage flexibly in their transformational recovery journey. Our sessions foster emotional expression and connection, essential elements often absent in conventional recovery settings.
Here’s what one of my friends in recovery said about STOP & FLOW!
“I struggled so long on my own with my addictions. This really helped me learn something today. I could feel, like really feel that showing my vulnerability was actually a step towards real strength. I really enjoyed moving more gently in my body, which seems to be helping me think more peacefully now too.”
